I paint every morning as a spiritual practice, a way to express a vision of reality that many may not see—a reality of peace, harmony, and deep connection beyond materialism. My work is shaped by a lifetime of serving marginalized communities, from Spanish Harlem to the Navajo Reservation, to years as a Lutheran pastor and mentor. Through color and form, I seek to reveal the sacred in everyday life, whether through humor, social justice, transformation, or the trickster spirit of the coyote—challenging perceptions and inviting change. To me, the artist is a kind of healer, using creativity to stand apart from systems of dominance and inspire a new way of seeing the world.
